In 2000 following the recording of his first album, South Kensington, Elphara slung his violin over his shoulder and set off in search of new experiences. A year on the roads of India, Japan, China... After several years writing new material, a series of live recordings at Hampstead Church gave him the opportunity to explore vocally as well and encouraged him to write lyrics for some of his compositions.

Most of the tracks on the album Bow are inspired by impressions of lively London life, either above ground on the streets or on the underground Under A Bridge, for example or Tate or Tournesols (this last track celebrating an audience of passers-by).

A more classical approach is displayed in pieces such as Printemps or Ma Belle. These, I hope, have a certain captivating and subtle lyricism.Gordon's Tune, Green Park and Leicester Square are compositions marked by the fire and passion of a more folk-roots style.

Elphara invites you to dive into his poetic universe, where the worlds of classical and folk music blend to reveal a rich and colourful landscape.

"The tender reflection of Blue finds enchanting, plucked strings merging with sympathetic percussion and dramatic piano as a backdrop to a meditative vocal" -Musician Union magazine (UK)

"Elphara's new album 'Bow' dips violin and voice in the rich lyrical waters of Celtic, folk and classical music." -Timeout (UK)
